Time Exhibit

TIME (TIME, SPACE & LIGHT)
This is an exhibit of 5 abstract works , based on the concept of time, and inspired by ideas of cosmogenesis. This was part of an exhibition that explored the ways that time, space, and light can be both conceived and observed. It is a collaboration involving three ceramic artists, two painters, and one photographer.
For a long time I’ve been interested in the general patterns we find in many complex systems. Likewise, how these patterns evolve over time. The universe and its creation is arguably one of the more complex systems to describe. However, our natural world, human society and even our creative minds are other complicated systems that evolve over short and long periods of time.
Patterns emerging over different scales of time, inspire both the scientist and artist in me. The ideas I generate are my own personal universe of creation. So I am on a quest to find order, to find rules to help understand how these systems are created and change. While it is tempting to devise complex rules and models that describe these systems, the complexity is likely the result of quite simple rules and agents evolving together over time.
